Using Chakra Balancing Meditation For Improving Your Awareness & Wellbeing
If you want to be in the best possible physical and mental health, and to increase your emotional and spiritual well-being, it’s vital to have a healthy, well functioning chakra system. In this article we’ll take a look at the importance of balancing the chakras, and how this can be accomplished by using a chakra balancing meditation recording.
What Are The Chakras?
Simply put, the chakras are vortices of energy which help to regulate energy flow both within your mind-body system, and between you and the wider universe. There are seven major (or primary) chakras, which are situated in a line starting just below the torso, and ending at the top of the head. Each of these chakras is associated with different colours, physical and mental characteristics, and energy frequencies. Here is a very brief overview of the characteristics of each of the seven main chakras:
First chakra
This chakra is also known as the base chakra or root chakra. It is linked with the colour red, and is associated with physical survival and security. The root chakra is situated at the base of the torso.
Second chakra
This chakra is also called the sacral chakra. It is situated in the area of the reproductive organs in the lower abdomen, and is associated with the colour orange and with creativity.
Third chakra
The third chakra is the solar plexus chakra, which is situated – unsurprisingly! – in the solar plexus area. This chakra is associated with the colour yellow and with developing a healthy sense of self-esteem, and self-confidence in your own personality.
Fourth chakra
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra, which is situated in the chest area and linked with the colour green. It is linked with emotions such as compassion and love.
Fifth chakra
The fifth or throat chakra is situated in the neck area, and is associated with the colour blue. It is linked with self expression and communication.
Sixth chakra
The sixth chakra is located in the forehead area between the eyes, and is known as the third eye chakra. Its colour is indigo, and it is associated with qualities such as intuition and understanding.
Seventh chakra
The seventh chakra is the crown chakra, which is situated at the head. This chakra is associated with the colours violet and white, and it’s responsible for our connection with our spiritual nature and the greater universe. It is through the crown chakra that energy is drawn from the cosmos and down to the lower chakras to sustain the body.
This brief overview doesn’t do justice to the complexity of the chakra system, but you don’t need to understand all its workings to use chakra meditation to stimulate the chakras and correct any imbalances.
The Benefits Of Chakra Balancing
In a healthy chakra system, each chakra will spin at the appropriate rate, and will be in balance with its fellow chakras. The energy system of the body as a whole will also be in balance, and you’ll experience good physical health and mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Unfortunately, many people experience chakra imbalances of various kinds, which are produced by factors such as a stressful lifestyle, negative emotion, environmental stressors and other influences which can negatively impact us.
If allowed to continue, imbalanced chakras can eventually lead to physical illness, to say nothing of having a negative effect on our emotional well-being and spiritual connection.
How To Balance The Chakras
There are different methods you can use to balance the chakras, such as using crystals, colour healing, and of course you can also visit a trained energy practitioner who can assist you with the chakra tuning process. This latter option isn’t really feasible for many people, due to budget considerations or the difficulty of finding a suitable energy healer.
Fortunately, there’s a lot you can do to keep your chakras in balance at home, and using a chakra balancing meditation recording is one of the easiest and most effective of these.
There’s one problem however, which is that people who aren’t used to meditating may find it difficult to use traditional chakra meditation, which often involve visualising the chakras and their energy flow. Such meditation techniques require the ability to focus while staying deeply relaxed, and this isn’t as simple as it sounds if you’re not used to doing it.
Fortunately, help is available in the form of brainwave entrainment technologies such as binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones.
What Is Brainwave Entrainment?
Brainwave entrainment is a well-researched and increasingly popular method that involves using pulsed sounds (and sometimes light also) to influence your mental and physical state.
Simply put, the brain produces brainwaves of different frequencies, which correspond to different physical and mental states and abilities. By using a brainwave entrainment recording, you encourage your brain to adjust its output to the frequencies of the sounds in the recording. In this way, you can gain considerable control over your state of mind, without having to spend years learning meditation and mind control techniques.
For example, if you want to enter a deep trance state but stay conscious, you might select a recording which stimulates the production of theta brainwaves, in the 4 to 8 Hz frequency range. Normally such a theta trance state can be quite difficult to achieve for the untrained person, but by listening to a theta brainwave recording, the process becomes easier [read more about brainwave entrainment].
Using Brainwave Entrainment For Chakra Meditation
Brainwave entrainment is helpful for tuning the chakras, because it helps you to enter a meditative state.
I personally like the theta meditation recording from The Unexplainable Store.
Binaural Beats, Monaural Beats Or Isochronic Tones?
This is available as binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones. These are three different types of brainwave entrainment technology, and they all work slightly differently [read more about the differences between binaural, monaural and isochronic sounds]
They all work very well however – the type you use is really a matter of personal preference, although many people do find isochronic tones to be somewhat more powerful.
Whichever type you choose, make sure you listen to your recording regularly to get the most benefit.
