Review
This is Abraham’s second non-fiction book, and was published in 1991. It is 277 pages long, and consists of two major sections.
What’s it about?
After a foreword from Jerry and several pages of inspiring quotes from Abraham, the first section begins. This consists of 15 chapters devoted to explaining the science of deliberate creation, plus practical techniques for using it to achieve the life you desire. They cover the three main universal laws (the laws of attraction, deliberate creation and allowing), and place much emphasis on the process of becoming fully aligned with your Inner Being. Other topics covered include self appreciation, influence, the freedom, growth and joy triad, the emotional guidance system and much more.
Like its predecessor ‘A New Beginning I’, the second section of this book consists of transcripts from Abraham seminars, where Abraham answers questions from guests. Again, a huge range of interesting topics is covered, including health, relationships, spirituality, wealth, the non-physical world and more.
The book finishes with a reprint of one of their Quarterly Newsletters, complete with articles, quotes, and product info.
What’s it like?
This is an excellent and very enjoyable book, and I strongly recommend it. It is very positive and uplifting, and is packed with inspiring advice and insight. Most of the themes which are later developed in greater detail in their subsequent books ‘Ask and it is Given‘ and ‘The Amazing Power Of Deliberate Intent
‘ are here too, but even if you have their later books, I still think this one is worth buying, especially for the chapters on using meditation to connect with your Inner Being (this is covered in more depth here than in their later books), and for the transcripts.
It also has quite a lot of pink text to match the pink cover, which – for me at least – has an uplifting effect in itself!
Summary
Another great book from Abraham-Hicks. It’s not quite as in-depth as their later books, but all the essentials are here, along with some very useful practical exercises, and a section of fascinating seminar transcripts. While it wouldn’t be my first-choice Abraham book, it’s still a must!
