Grapefruit & Minty Kiwi Fruit Salad

This fruit salad has a refreshing bite to it, and is great for hot summer days.
Ingredients
1C natural yogurt
1/2C fresh mint
4 kiwi fruits
8 ruby red grapefruits
1C dried coconut flakes
1/2C raw pistachios
Instructions
1. Chop the mint leaves finely.
2. Put the yoghurt in a mixing bowl, and mix the leaves with the yoghurt.
3. Optional – if you prefer a sweet flavour for the dressing, add a squirt of agave nectar to the yoghurt, and stir in well.
4. Chop the ends off the kiwis and peel if desired. Cut lengthwise into six sections, then …

Almond, Peach & Orange Juice Smoothie

This tasty smoothie recipe is ideal for hot summer days, and the almonds make it more filling than a pure fruit smoothie.
Ingredients
1C frozen peaches
1C orange juice
1 frozen banana
2 TBSP slivered almonds
Instructions
1. Chop the banana into chunks.
2. Add the juice to the blender.
3. Add the banana and peaches to the blender.
4. Add the almonds.
5. Blend until completely smooth.
It is easy to make variations on this recipe. Try using pecan nuts or macadamias in place of the almonds, or use a different fruit juice in place of the orange juice (pineapple …

This section contains a selection of simple veg*n recipes made from natural ingredients. Of course everyone has a different definition of what’s ‘healthy’, and it’s always best to eat intuitively and give your body what it’s asking for, but these recipes fit my current preferences, which are for foods that are:
